![]() Then, in the projects sections, I have the following: Given the natural language entry that Todoist has, I can create a new task with due date and tags already assigned while taking notes in, e.g., Onenote, with just a couple key presses. When I press WIN+SHIFT+Q, it copies the currently selected text, opens a new Todoist task, and pastes the text into subject. I also use AHK to work with Todoist globally in Windows. I find that it works better than Outlook add-in if you want to preserve email metadata. I use “email to Todoist” extensively, it’s a great functionality. Really, all I want to see is deadlines and milestones. I wish there was a way to set the sync based on custom views and not projects. I set it up as a separate Chrome app on my desktop. ![]() After trial and error, I decided to use Google calendar (with an account I set up just for that) and sync every project separately, for better flexibility (so each comes up as a separate Google calendar). I prefer MS services, but there’s no two way sync. Plan my week - same as Plan my day but due within 7 days + any milestone due in the next 3 weeks Plan my day - overdue tasks + tasks due today and tomorrow + tasks + Priority1 tasks Task with deadlines - I get the list just by clicking on label Due people that I am waiting - task that I want to work on today (manually - tasks that I want to hide from most views but not delete completely I add a symbol □to the task subjects for major - tasks that are waiting on (e.g. Task 1, due Monday - no actual due date, would like to work on it on Monday (or at least, review it and reschedule to another day)ġ1/01 Task 2 due 10/15 - that task has actual hard deadline on 11/1, I plan to start working on it on - tasks with hard deadlines. The tasks that have an actual real deadline get tag and the deadline added to the subject. I use them as start dates (which Todoist lacks) to make sure that they at least get reviewed and rescheduled periodically, instead of just having a pile of unscheduled tasks that I forget about. ![]() I tried using sections but just don’t see the need for them yet.Īlmost every task is assigned a due date. Very large projects may get sub-projects to break them into logical chunks. Work is for non-project related tasks and small projects with a few tasks. It is supposed to be empty, and if there are any tasks in it they are reviewed and moved. Inbox is the place for quick incoming tasks. I have Inbox, Work, and several project folders for larger projects that have more than a handful of tasks. My most involved setup is for my work projects. ![]()
